Euryptids, or 'giant sea scorpions', were among the largest arthropods ever to have lived.
For ~200 million years (Silurian to Late Devonian), they scuttled at the bottoms of oceans, lakes & swamps. Then they disappeared & only their cousins, the horseshoe crabs, remember their passing.
