i get artists wanting agency in the telling of their stories and writers not wanting to be bound by whether the subject likes what's being said. but knowing how many bios get made, i can't speak to how often artists are out looking for the writer they wanna do that with. feels like a big piece tho.

by someone who offered to "ghost write" my story as told by me on that podcast "in your voice". my response to that is no disrespect but if i wrote a book i wouldn't want or need a ghostwriter i do this shit for real and my voice is the impetus for the idea in the first place. its all weird.

i feel that. can't pitch ghostwriting to a rapper. well... yes you can with a lot of these now lol. i'm stuck on the "if" tho. i see all the books and i think about the advance as life raft. i see a lack of jobs amping an interest vs. access problem. (i also see artist interest tapering on its own.)

the climate at the coachella headliner level of only ever doing so much press might be another tone setting issue. writers learn to plan around maybe never getting any time. i would love to ask a lot of musicians a lot of probing cosmic and also mechanical questions. (el are you a fuzz pedal guy)
