If you're going now, at the coldest time of the year, REALLY bundle up! With its windy location and with getting wet, it feels much colder than the normal city temperature! Also a lot of people try to get there early and the initial wait can be a cold one also!
Just got back from Japan a few hours ago (as I write this).
Hope you brought some warm clothing, because Old Man Winter is freezing things up with COLD!

Be sure to check out Minato Mirai in my olde haunting grounds in the 'hama (Yokohama), and Chuka-gai (ChinaTown).
Snowed pretty heavily in Toyama (where I was mostly), but with the new cold spell, no telling how the weather will turn out now.
Relatives in Shiga (near Kyoto and Osaka) said the weather has turned colder now, so prepare yourself for that.
