I wonder if the mass exodus will actually help Twitter. If a ton of people leave that's a lot less costs for them on management, while if all the people who tolerate (and click on) the endless ads and are still happy to pay for a tick stay, that's hardly bad for them. - ThreadSky

It's obviously going to be way more complex than that, but since my timeline is flooded with ads for things I wouldn't look at in a million years, it makes me think that losing a lot of people like me would make their ads net more effective.

I feel like Bluesky turning into Twitter while X turns into Truth Social will be bad for them in the long run. Advertisers want a big audience.

Perhaps, but on the other hand, the reason they only have ads for scams and the like is that they can no longer sell ads to legitimate advertisers, and the legit advertisers pay a lot better than the scammers.

True. But then if they keep those ones, and even get more if those ads are, on average more effective, and then with lowering costs, it should leave them better off than they are now. Might be less loss rather than actual profit, but would be better.

I honestly think it makes them less appealing to advertisers now more than ever. Look at the comments of any large posts and the first 50 replies are bots, the worst people you can think of, or bots of those folks. There's no more discussion as everyone real has left.
