Yes. They'll probably gobble up Square Enix. And once they get what they're after, they'll cut off PlayStation. Xbox may seem nice, but I assure you, Microsoft isn't. They were called the "evil empire" during the 90's for a reason.

Microsoft and Sony should wait for the hype of the Switch 2 launch and new portable PCs like the Steam Deck 2. After that, they can release their proposals, incorporating the best features from what's been successful.

My view on this is an xbox handheld could be the replacement xbox series s for next gen, with a powerful full fledged console as their high end. I think they should still have a handheld tier that devs can opt into but should be able to only target high end if they wanted to.
