Basically the exact price I was predicting based on current pricing of the Steam Deck OLED. Bit disappointed Nintendo are sticking with an LCD display at launch, knowing they’ll release an OLED version in like two years
I’m wondering is it a cost-cutting measure because Nintendo would need a variable refresh rate OLED panel to support 120fps in handheld mode at 1080p when the Switch is in portable mode
tbf to the Switch 2 it’s LCD panel does support HDR, which I don’t believe the panel in the OLED Switch does support. So the Switch 2 display is still better overall, just not as good as it could have been
The UK price includes VAT - the U.S price is pre-sales tax (usually something like 6-9%)!
If the U.S sales tax was 20% like U.K VAT, then they'd be paying $540 (£417)! So cheaper for U.K when factoring sales tax/VAT! I imagine that's because they're factoring in the tariffs in the price.

90€ for physical games lol
€80 digital.
Regardless - 2017-2025 this panel should be superior regardless. Especially considering the 120hz and HDR.
