Lib Dems have basically become yellow tories. The Greens at least at the moment seem to be consistently a force for good, but their effects will only be felt if people really start acknowledging them as an alternative

- gaining unprecedented support by pledging to scrap tuition fees, then tripling them instead
- bragging about securing a 5p charge on plastic bags then revealing they got it in exchange for tightening benefits sanctions
- misleading bar charts

For any union members, remember you can opt out of the political donation policy of your union (and slightly reduce your monthly fee). Given that all unions fund Labour.

That doesn't seem right to me – e.g. UCU don't use their political fund for party donations but rather for direct campaigning and lobbying on behalf of members. https://www.ucu.org.uk/politicalfund

If you go and look at their accounts, I would surmise that most people are opting out of it. Their income from subscriptions suggests around a million members, their increase in political fund year on year was £5,000. I'm not even sure you can effectively lobby with £5k.
