We have three branches of gov + military. People who haven't served as military officers don't understand this, but it is impossible for a POTUS to use mil as a personal security force.

I’m not going to give any personal details away, because that isn’t safe anymore. But I am well versed in how the military and government works, in how history has played out. Sure, we have to let the courts try, because we have to. But I don’t have high hopes.

The Secretary of Defense does not directly control the military. POTUS serves as Commander-in-Chief, but illegal orders will be disobeyed. Military officers cannot be arbitrarily dismissed, and the officer corps is too large and institutionally structured to allow for an internal coup.
