I didn't say I didn't like him. Just that I'm not his biggest supporter. And FWIW, I view the Press Secretary as a far more important job than DOT Secretary. One is in front of the public everyday and the other isn't.

Some of the main reasons why he is a good communicator are that he knows what he's talking about, has thought through every issue and offers honest answers based on his own values and opinion. That doesn't work when he has to promote or defend opinions he might not be fully share.

He really should have been Biden's Press Secretary. No offense to those who were, but Buttigieg just has a natural "gift of gab" that is unmatched. Biden may have had more success if Pete had been front and center everyday.

You can almost train a monkey to run DOT, almost. And we've had LGBT men run departments before (J. Edgar Hoover being one example). Putting him in front of cameras daily at the WH would have been a smarter move.

If you support Buttigieg then you should realize that this actually did him more harm than good. It's great he stepped up and served, but DOT sec is largely considered a job with no further political advancement. Elizabeth Dole is the only who had and that was more of who she was married to.

I disagree. Vital as the POTUS spokesperson is, it’s mostly a thankless, uninspiring job with a high burnout rate, I would never wish that upon him. @petebuttigieg.bsky.social will excel wherever he goes, at whatever he does. I hope he raises his kids for a bit, travels, write’s a book maybe. 💙

Answering stupid questions daily and defending/explaining what someone else is doing and saying certainly doesn't help anyone's political career at all.
