Here’s the thing: it’s often cheaper for businesses to manufacture products abroad, so they intentionally use that as a negotiating tactic against unions pushing for good American jobs. Even with tariffs, they just threaten to move jobs abroad when workers push for just wages. (2/4)
Strategically applied tariffs are valuable in helping keep jobs here. So the liberal disdain for people “suddenly realizing” that they have to pay the tariffs leaves out the very real impacts that tariffs can have on American jobs when greedy corporate executives… (3/4)
…are trying to use globalization as leverage against hard-working people. So maybe tone down the disdain and start listening. We have lots to learn. (4/4)
