My father was one of them. He lied about his age to join the Army at 17, served 3 years in Europe as an anti-aircraft gunner, helped liberate Buchenwald in April 1945, and went on to serve another 20 years in the Reserves, retiring as a Colonel. Guess tRump would have called him a sucker.
