Tip to those in leadership positions: If someone comes asking for you to do more to protect/help themselves, their kids, vulnerable or marginalized residents, don’t tell them what you’ve already done, just listen to what they’re asking for.

It’s a good rule to live by generally. If someone doesn’t know (or acknowledge) what you think you’ve done to help them, there’s a really good chance that what you’ve done didn’t help them much at all.

But remember the (false) Henry Ford quote "if I asked people what they wanted they'd have said faster horses".
Very often the truth of what they need is in what they say (faster transport in this eg) but they might not be in a position to tell you exactly what they need.
Another tip: If you are angry at a person or group because they haven't done what you expected, tell them what you want from them before you give up. You may not like the response, they may not answer they may ask you for more information or for your help. At least you know where things stand.
