Not in this state. Maybe with some patches, but it will be tough. Rebirth is large in scale, and there are already serious compromises to get it to 30. FSR being added could help with visual quality, but I don't see much helping with framerate.

It’s okay. Even with the hiccups you sounded very happy to be able to play it on the Steam Deck in your review. The Steam Deck is the best chance I have at actually finishing this game, because of where I am at in my life. I can’t wait to play it Thursday. Thank you for the review 🙏

I haven’t played rebirth yet but I played remake and it was great. The broad strokes are the same as the original ff7 up to leaving midgar but there’s a lot of details added. I think you’ll be ok with starting at rebirth but if you like ff7 I’d recommend playing remake.

IDK what I was expecting when they said they were optimising for Deck (I guess, subconsciously, 60FPS with gfx compromise) but, 30FPS is still amazing. That's not a comfortable experience for me tho, the PC it is! Thanks for your review, I would have gotten cozy tomorrow night and been disappointed!

My only complaint is that the games could come to PC earlier and (previous true but maybe not so much now) a bit more optimised.

Nier Automata was one of my first J-Port experiences (played in 2020 before the bug fixes) and I felt some things could have been better. Still a great experience though

It's not going to be perfect. But the fact that they can hit those benchmarks and remain playable is what I'm proud of. And then we have cyberpunk showing that all it takes is a little more optimization. Wow

I'm impressed! I expected this port to be a LOT worst if not totally unplayable on Deck being that Remake doesn't run (for me at least) super well on Deck. But 30fps with pop in and some blurriness for a PS5 exclusive (previously) working on my handheld PC is INCREDIBLE when you really consider it.
