Past cannot be perfectly traceable, future cannot be perfectly predicted. Universe is deterministic as far as we are capable of understanding without probability, or with input/outcome. Hard determinism is too much of an assumption that feels all too familiar in structure.

In same breath, a hard determinist slips back into the "illusion", talking about our choice, ability, how we can change our empathy, etc. There is a future already set into motion by physics and you have hope for our actions? Shut up.
