I mean they were also planned for *this* season, granted there is probably some intent but I feel the closest thing to them “sweating bullets” is releasing the season trailer the day after MR launch but also I think it is unproductive to think either company is in direct competition with each other

I think trying to project a beef between the two games will kill marvel rivals because ultimately people historically come back to Overwatch, and if I’m being honest I don’t even think OW players *want* marvel rivals to die. My view of when I’m gonna play the game is when OW pisses me off lol

before Rivals, a flaw of ow2 was to COMPLETELY deny 6v6, even in non-competitive formats. regardless of the 'suspicion'... it's something that had to be returned as a fun option, and I hope that there will be some coexistence after this testing.

regardless of Marvel Rivals, OW2 still had to "close" with this resentment from the community.

however... future access to 6v6 even if not competitive must be given, like assault maps. Nobody wants a "seen? We were right to deny it to you".

They did a dev blog talking about the dev standpoint on 6v6 when they outlined these tests that they were doing. It was basically never a matter of “we are protecting you from 6v6” it’s more “is it actually practical to go back” and that’s what these tests are to determine

Finally I won't have to 1v5 anymore, being a subpar tank main in 5v5 feels like trying to box Mike Tyson, Mohammed Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Sugar Ray Robinson and Leonard all at once.

As someone who greatly missed OW1 after they took down the servers I'm ready for this. 5v5 never really clicked with me. I missed the tank synergies and chaos of 6v6.
