I have had enough plants I’ve killed through forgetting to water them that I know if I had to feed myself from the earth I would perish quickly

Gardening is a lot of fun and growing things is nice but also you learn a valuable lesson which is:
I would absolutely starve to death if I needed to grow all of my own food
