While we may (*cough cough*) find this approach annoying, I believe this is the best way for the Times to communicate right now. "We" know what they mean. We all need to learn how to read cryptic language, like Jeremiah Denton's eye-blinks in a N Viet hostage video. It's an example, not a sell-out.
"Instead of submissively complying... Denton blinked the Morse code for “T-O-R-T-U-R-E,” . It was confirmation that the Vietcong were torturing its American captives. Like McCain, Denton’s grit inspired a nation when we most needed to believe they hadn’t given up the fight." (Edited for space)
That second pop was the collective sound from all of us throwing our heads forward laughing while reading this post. The Times is worthless. Your post. Priceless.
