Glad to see this being openly discussed. Unfortunately there is a conflict with @weldeiry.bsky.social statements of wanting open, respectful, & accountable discussions around post publication review while he reposts the opaque, disrespectful, & unaccountable anonymous SciGuardians account.
Huge shout out to @katetravis.bsky.social for the perseverance to triumph over all challenges in pursuit of the truth! The fact that he responded to her at all is inspiring.
About 1 year ago, Dr. El-Deiry posted a generic letter in reply to almost all of the PubPeer posts on his papers. I have not seen that he's taken action on most of these papers.
I don’t see how any of this addresses the root concern that he faked data. In science it doesn’t matter if was “just around the edges” or “only to embellish a little”.
Not to mention the time he spends on social media! It's a wonder he gets any research done! Or maybe that's why his papers are full with errors. He strikes me as very narcissistic! See also his post right after his surgery! It's insane.
I don't know. Most of his (many) selfies are him inside a conference or something similar. Not sure I've seen any partying photos... nor am I sure I wish to.

An influential research integrity organization publicly shared concerns about some of your choices.
Instead of answering the concerns, you provide more evidence of poor judgment?
👉I am not a scientist and have no scientific training.
👉I am not a doctor and have no medical training.
If even *I* can find problems in papers that lead to corrections or retractions... I am not the problem.

If he’d only spend more time addressing the issues instead of attacking the people pointing out the issues . . .
