My wife uses a corrugated metal. Three years in and it is good.

Redwood or cedar. Held together with screws, not nails. With 4 x 4 posts at the corners and, if it's long, in the middles. 4 feet wide and any length. Easy to cap the edges for sitting space. I've never had one that didn't outlast me (I moved, not died).

One of mine is cinder blocks and it worked OK. Not my favorite. If you try it, use something to hold the blocks together. My other is a kit with plastic planks. It works well and has held up. My concern with using wood is any chemicals that may be in the wood. Especially if it is for outdoor use.
