??? You are so off base. Those are the most recent examples of Dems staying too long. I can dig and find more and most will be men who should have stepped down and lifted up the next generation of leaders. The old guard Dem method is failing.
I agree that Feinstein stayed too long. Nancy, otoh, was supremely effective and still brings a lot to the table. She might be the most savvy politician out there. Stepped aside for the next gen after showing them how to count votes and legislate with a tiny majority.
Completely agree that Feinstein and Pelosi have fabulous track records & accomplished so much. Disagree about Pelosi. She did not step aside when she blocked AOC who would be more effective at holding Rep feet to the fire than Connolly. Her savvy is what she should be mentoring to younger Dems
I love AOC but until she is perceived by the electorate as something other than the Left-most wing of the Party, she's going to be only the spokesperson for that end. I mean, KAMALA was thought too liberal by a lot of moderate Democrats!
