Is that what that was? Of course, it was the first thing we thought of, but then Sandler was so loud and obnoxious it seemed like it would be a dis to Zelensky if they were referencing that, so we ended up just confused.
I think he was trying to get across how absolutely ludicrous that suit comment was. Sandler is not subtle, that's for sure.
And the last bit with Chalamet was not related at all. Some actor said they wanted to hear Sandler pronounce Chalamet's name correctly and it became an internet thing.
I won’t watch him after reading that he will be at an award ceremony for him at the Kennedy Center. Zero respect for anyone that would go to trump’s takeover of the Kennedy Center.
I enjoyed the Oscars last night. Even though I only saw one of the films, I'll definitely check out some of the others. All in all it was a fun, entertaining evening.
What we need right now is to fucking fight like hell. So turn your fucking TV off and call your congressman, grab a sign. PROTEST LIKE YOUR LIFE DEMANDS IT. Because it does.
Totally agree! His opening was painfully unfunny. And to read people's comments that he was "killing it" had a totally different meaning to me. He definitely killed my joy in watching it!

It’s a giant televised circle jerk.

Comedians seem to have an ok track record.
B actors and gameshow hosts do not.
Like he'll walk out into a room of leaders and demand they start laughing, just out of the blue.
And that was the first 7 mins.
That would have made great TV.
