Collapse as in dissolve into splinter nations?
Probably not. It looks like they have the military under control and that's most likely enough to stop secession .
Collapse as in totally abandoning any pretense of democracy?
Extremely high.
If gop loses next election it will be a mess.
Assuming that
Not fully imo.
Definitely getting there though.
The pretense goes completely if the public gets out of control and the military is used to control the whole population.
ATM people who usually follow the law still are/will.
If/when that happens, that's the tipping point.
Although bad it was isolated.
What I'm talking about is either enough of the population revolting so that the military has to be deployed nationwide or just a straight up pretext to declare marshal law and not revoke it .
ATM they are pretending it's business as usual unless you're an illegal.
I imagine pardoning the Jan6ers who attacked police might cause some heavy thinking amongst police forces but I forget USA police are more localised/politicised that ours have been traditionally.
Going by past empires that have fallen, it could be as quick as the USSR, or as slow as the Roman Empire.
Rome was sacked several times before becoming a second to Constantinople. Even when revived by an Emperor, a majority of Italian regions & the western Empire did not want to pay for Rome.
If California is the third largest economy in the world (? …. News report around the fires)
And Trump is placing conditions on them (re fire recovery) - surely this is the state that will start the civil war?!
Surely, from what we are seeing, Trump wouldn’t let the $$ go. If he’s willing to send troops to takeover Greenland, I think he’d storm California’s state government in a heartbeat if they were to attempt it democratically . I’m feeling Jericho/Handmaidens Vibes !
The Military / DoD famously ignored some of the directives given to them by Trump last time. This time he's stacked the room with sycophants. But eventually he'll cross an idiotic line, like 'invade Greenland' (jokes, sorta) at which point adults will need to make 'a choice'

Kicks off from there
I’m so here for that! 💥😂
But I know it’s horrendous, & bloody contagious!
