Tomorrow at 10am ET, the House Committee on Natural Resources will hold a hearing, the purpose of which appears to be to obscure the immense value of the Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act. 🧵

The ESA and MMPA serve as global models for wildlife protection and have enabled vulnerable populations to recover from the brink of extinction. We need them now more than ever as habitat loss, climate change, and other threats place millions of wild species at risk.
The committee is again choosing to push the false narrative that conservation & economic development are mutually exclusive. The economic benefits of diverse ecosystems are extensive & attacks on these laws are merely political flashpoints to push an anti-conservation agenda.
