i hate doing everything that producers make me do. i hate the infinite check-ins without a specific important agenda. i hate jira with the passion of an elected republican hurting an innocent baby. production needs are the worst part of my job.
but i still do what they ask me because it's critical.

I have said it before and I'll say it again but as a CM, if I need info on ANYTHING - I seek out a producer.
Good production is the foundation that everything is built on. I know what to communicate and how to communicate it because of good production. I know what's going into a build or a patch -

y'all taking bullets for me daily and i can't say loudly enough how much i appreciate that.
i'm putting down the phone now. good night, world.
it's not actually jira i hate. it's the overhead of time and task tracking. i'm using the software as a synecdoche for the process.
That said when I go in to write patch notes and I see a bunch of well maintained JIRA tickets I want to sob with joy, soβ¦ please know what youβre doing is making someone happy. β€οΈ
i spent years grumbling "at least @spacegoatvii.bsky.social appreciates this" to myself. and if it was good for her, that's enough for me.
