Oil and gas giants BP and Shell may have made record profits and handed huge sums to shareholders last year, but actually, they really need tax cuts. They're telling Chancellor Rachel Reeves they "cannot afford" to go on without scrapping the windfall tax on their excess profits. Sound fair?

If Reeves really wanted to drive down inflation setting a cap on shareholder payouts, and executive pay rises, would definitely drive down prices.
