No. Clarification is important. The Lenovo Legion Go S contains steam branding. Yet is is NOT a SteamDeck. Tom isn’t clarifying anything Jez said. He’s clarifying what others are saying who haven’t read it correctly. If you understood it, or don’t care about the difference. Great. Move along

To say it’s NOT first party though isn’t 100% true because Xbox is taking part of its development. And it’s heavily Xbox branded. It’s in a grey area that really doesn’t need clarification. That 10% wants to separate the device as “not Xbox” because of fear of failure.

If it were 100% third party, then Xbox can wash their hands of it.

Placing Xbox branding on gaming hardware brings all the same praise and hate as “first party” hardware.

I’m saying it’s grey and there’s no point in making the distinction. Jez did the smart thing and told us how it was. Tom is trying to combat future scrutiny by separating it as a “non first party” device. Whatever confusion he thinks he’s fixing, isn’t fixing anything. That’s my one and only point.
