There are two coming out, one is called Neptune. I’m going to be beta testing it soon - they’re hoping to be out in the spring. The second is @skylight.social - please follow them (I believe, but could be wrong (correct me if I am) that Mark Cuban may have helped with some of their funding?).

I hardly ever used TikTok and will definitely not use it now. YouTube is my choice and their algorithm seems to work. I’m sure there is plentiful hate, misinformation and propaganda on that platform but it rarely comes into my feed.

I opened TikTok maybe 20 times. I hadn't opened it since 2023. In the summer of 2024 my business card had two large purchases, payable to a TikTok influencer, that I had to deal with. The world does not need TikTok.

Trump only wanted to save it so he could be in a tiktok video.

I learned to make no less than seven new sauces on TikTok. Learned great laundry tips. Found dozens of good books. Saw evidence of genocide in Gaza. Saw the pain of Russia’s invasion. Saw autistic people thrive. So many great dogs and cats and birds. I’ll miss it deeply.

Just a few days ago a man that does yard cleanup of abandoned & neglected properties cleaned the yard of an old woman who was physically unable. He set up a go fund me to help her & his followers raised over $800K for her. These are the things I will miss about TikTok. And the cats.
