The only way to save our democracy is to remember that we still have 3 coequal branches of government. Congress (even a slim minority) still has a lot of power. Also We the People can use the judiciary through law suits to reign in against overreach of the executive or legislative branch.

Presidential immunity from criminal prosecution doesn’t mean he gets to do anything. It just means he can’t be prosecuted personally. There’s still a lot of ways that the founders laid out as guardrails to prevent such overreach of power in any branch of government.
