Maybe you can find it, was either here or Reddit, but someone posted a picture of a scene from Don't Look Up where an Elon Musk-like character is addressing the cabinet, and it was uncannily similar to photos from yesterday's cabinet meeting.
The 2006 film, Idiocracy was once a comedy—now it’s a documentary where a dystopian future America is ruled by stupidity. Experts are mocked, corporations rule, and debates feel like reality TV. A sports drink has replaced water for drinking and irrigation because of its electrolytes--worth a view.
I watched Idiocracy again the other day and, through my 2025 lens, saw it as overly optimistic. The president asked the smartest man in the world for help with a problem affecting humanity and even let him try his scientific experiment. If only we had that. 😭
There was a novel written by John Brunner in 1971 titled
"THE SHEEP LOOK UP"
Some of the plot issues were global civil unrest, Populations poisoned by chemicals leaking into drinking water, protesters rioting in the streets and a moron US President who only spoke in non-sequitors.
Mike Judge said in an interview that when he wrote IDIOCRACY he set the story 500 years into the future. He also added that he was a lousy prophet because he was off by 490 years.
Oh we're wayyyy past Idiocracy. Herbert Camacho actually cared about his constituents and NotSure earnestly wanted to help and was dumbfounded how stupid things have gotten. Naw, we're at Mad Max Thunderdome with shades of Terminiator now
