FL Studio has the lowest prices for its various editions and many others use it with many genres.

Otherwise you get the quality that you pay for.

Aim for longevity regardless of the length of your perceived career hopes today! You really want your compositions to last!

oh nice! it's okey to just want to fun with the synths ;). well, open source like me see... you can use Lmms which is a free daw so you can lay your sounds, and there's free synths plug-ins like zebralette. but if you can buy a real synth...the experience it's even better 🤘

oh Marcos? hold on... oh! you can use garage band. it's a free daw for mac os users :)) it should installed. if it's not, you can find it on apple app store

Thanks. My understanding was the Garage Band is somewhat limiting but I guess it makes sense to start there!!

yeah totally :)) it's a great starting point. I would suggest Ableton, but you said free and your on a Mac so garage band for the win ;)

I know Abelton is the gold standard but I need to make sure this is something I want to take moderately seriously before I drop the $$ on that. I'll give garage band a go.
