"Because as imperfect as the analogy is, working with AI is easiest if you think of it like an alien person rather than a human-built machine. And I think that is important to get across, even with the risks of anthropomorphism."
Appreciate this perspective. I am concerned that by thinking of it as human we may therefore extend to "AI" an unwarranted and dangerous level of trust.
Right, I've written about this myself in the last: we need to explain both things at once, that this isn't even remotely a simulated human, while its's still helpful to apply human analogies to help people understand how to use them https://simonwillison.net/2023/Apr/7/chatgpt-lies/
Excellent! We need to continue to educate everyone! Will look more into your writings and works. Am very interested in discussing ethical/moral issues in the "AI" context. Open to learning your thoughts
This one seens particularly impressive to me because it not only requires knowledge of zelda, but also of how a low cost production would adapt the shooting.
I totally want that game. GTA 1922. It might be a bit slapsticky, but there are also rum-runners with 120mph Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts through back woods, without light, at night, stuffed with bottles, organized crime & tommy guns.
