Marie-Josèphe dite Angélique was a Portuguese-born black slave in New France. She was tried & convicted of setting fire to her owner's home, burning much of what is now referred to as Old Montreal. Canada Post recently revealed a postage stamp to honor her memory #blackhistorymonth
