Thanks! This was one of the easier ones to come up with because there were a lot of fluid/flexible forms to play with to get a good silhouette going.

I think there is an actual style of calligraphy that uses large brushes like that to write large characters on large sheets; but imagine how proficient you'd need to be to use it to write small characters on small slips like those talismans, lol.

I suspect Taomon might have a smaller paint brush just for the talismans, while the large one is used for other attacks, in that same position I would probably make 1 (one) good quality talisman and then photocopy the shit out of it, lmao.

Taomon had some very cool attacks
I love the trope where characters uses art as a weapon, and shodo calligraphy is very much included
The only other example that comes to mind is probably Shinkenger Samurai

Side note: I see the Kanji for "Heaven, Wood, Fire, Water, Earth (from left to right)" here which is interesting because that's alnost the 5 Shinto elements but with "heaven" in place of "metal".

Ah, I see. Funny thing about "light" here is that it's color looks kind of "gold"; "gold" being an alternative reading for the "metal" kanji from the Shinto elements. That said, I have to wonder if this elemental line up is based on an alternative point of reference🤔.

This one is for the later on added 6th member, who is usually referred to as Shinken Gold
Though he's less metal themed and more sushi themed for some reason, he's pretty cool tho
