I'm 60 yrs old. My first Newcastle game was 1972, and in that time, there were a lot of ups and downs, fantastic players and managers, alas, no trophies, but great memories

Alternatively, do nothing in January, miss out on Champions League, then all of a sudden you don't have the financial muscle or the pulling power to do anything big in the summer anyway.

We will be forced to sell big players anyway if we continue on this path. No doubt there are ambitious people at the club but it don’t matter much if the net result is stagnation over multiple windows. Time to walk the walk or stop pretending

I think most fans understand that there is a real commitment from everyone at the club to keep improving and that if we don't sign players it's down to PSR . Onwards and, eventually, upwards

I'm yet to be convinced by the owners, to be honest. Feels like they lost interest when they bought the four Saudi clubs. They don't seem to be making too much effort to challenge or work around the rules, nor to bring in sponsorships, nor to invest much further in facilities.

I think what happened with us floating so close to PSR cost Steveley and lost interest pouring money into a revamp or new stadium nah as too the rules they are harming the so called big 6 Man U and Spurs aren’t buying

Feels like Staveley was the driving force behind it all and now she's gone there's a reduced desire on the Saudis to become the best. Could all change but right now I need more than vague promises and flawed transfer chases.

Agree. Really hope we can find a good deal for a RW this month, as it will definitely help us in our push for top 5. But in the current market it seems like we would have to spend crazy money to get a top tier RW. No use any more buying players that only improve us a little

Not denying that. But paying a premium to strengthen now (rather than wait for the summer when more players will be available and prices will be lower) is just as big a gamble.
It only really pays to spend now if we can get who we want & paying the premium is only worthwhile if makes that difference

A bad end to the season could end up costing us more than the overpay in the long run

Think when we're missing out on players to City because of the rules, which has been this case this window, then we can see how this is going to impact us long term. City might have a bad season but they've added 3 players this window and locked down Haaland. We can't compete

It's all very well not being to forced to sell the best players due to psr, but you'll be forced to sell them when they see a lack of ambition and potential success in the short term. These players are in there prime - can't wait for the 5 year plan
