Hunter has a dark past. But that's no reason to drag him through the legal & political process like the GOP did. There’s a couple of differences. First, Hunter’s recent legal issues were the result of bullshit politics, secondly, Hunter is going to go away.

If trump had any intention of going away like, say, Nixon, then maybe, a pardon could be justified. But trump is not. So that discussion isn’t relevant.

I used to think they'd give Hunter a sentence of time served or some house arrest for 30 days or something petty like that and Joe Biden could take the high ground and say "no one is above the law."
The whole GOP turned this into a circus. Hunter is pardoned. Joe will retire. Trump will whine.
