Not every anomalous media criticism of Sadiq Khan is directly motivated by racism - eg this BBC story. But they are the housetrained edges of a deeply racist set of assumptions which sees negative stories about Khan get loads of clicks and engagement. There’s no mystery to it.

I bet Susan Hall is wondering where her honour has gone.
Though the rest of wondered that long ago.
It then becomes news
. Notice how that idiot in Manchester has shut up? Also, this guys record in London crime is horrific
That’s good enough for me and more than lard arse did when he was mayor.

Khan has been elected as mayor THREE times.
Frankly, if you don’t live in London, it doesn’t really concern you.
Yet the claims are never challenged.
So according to the BBC a current minister states Labour are rewarding Khan for failure. But no questions asked
The Conservative Party gave us Dame Thérèse Coffey + Lord Chris Grayling - both big gongs were reward for failure, unlike Sadiq Khan's Sir, which was earned
The BBC in particular needs to grow a spine and call out other outlets for reporting opinion as fact.
