Picture a James Bond Villain sitting in his bed with his laptop, and with just a few keystrokes enables some logic in an EV to make the car take a hard right into the path of an oncoming truck. (Exploding pagers?)
Perhaps Govt could purchase and stockpile excess AL production. Producers can always buy it back. USA can only buy from govt stockpile at an elevated price or not at all so long as tariffs in place. Or export tax. Eventually it will all sell.
Here is an idea and just floating it. What if after the federal election a Canadian National government were implemented. It would be taking a page out of the British handbook but it would make logical sense to change the narrative and further strengthen unity in the face of adversity.
Again that takes time but in targeting Mexico, Britain and the EU as well as some Latin American states, the door opens to such an alliance. When one is in a league with others bleeding one tends to unify around the cause. These are personal thoughts and I realize may not reflect political reality
Also considering that the Trump whitehouse is weaponizing tariffs, suggests moving toward economic alliances which would thwart tariffs but also quite possibly isolate the American market so that the only place to sell the goods is in the American market (1/2)
You are right that is a lot harder than it sounds. Think how much work it is to get the provinces to bring down the trade barriers. That requires negotiation and that doesn't take one day. But a decoupling from the USA starting from day one isn't impossible. Just takes time.
We have trade agreements with 52 countries while the US has only 16 countries. Trade agreements take time certainly. At the moment we are looking at further agreements with South America. What does have to happen is businesses need to take advantage of these agreements.
I have asked the G&M to stop saturating us with photos of him. All the world media need to cover the news without forcing us to see his face again and again. It's wholly offensive.
🇺🇸 here. I’ll never get what my fellow so-called “Americans” voted for - I certainly did not
You guys should build a wall (one made of boards and glass like a hockey rink!) and put us in the penalty box for 4 years, or until we come to our senses. Trying from within but you can’t reason w cultists
Well, trading with the U.S., the largest economy in the world, and its proximity - in a just-in-time inventory, integrated manufacturing world made sense; as did relying on a post-WW2 U.S.-led world order that included NATO.
As odd as T 1.0 was, few (any?) imagined the madness of T 2.0. Buckle up!
Removing inter-provincial trade barriers has been monumentally difficult, but it's essential to reduce reliance on an unreliable trade partner. Exploring global partners and addressing these barriers would be a great move, with even small changes being beneficial. #TradeDiversification
cancel F-35s & re-order SAAB Gripen's instead which would be build in Canada. Anand was positive trade barriers could come down. Ignored all the trade agreements Trudeau signed after Trump 1.0. Everyone else seems positive on the changes needed except you and the G&M. We don't need your permission
Trump is heading USA to be like Orban's Hungary. Canada has been groomed via PP-Harper-IDU also beloved by Orban's Hungary. Maybe wake up and see the threatening larger picture

Please stop the inadvertent idolatry and contributing to making him an icon.

Are you EVER going to respond to this?
Now..."We need a plan."
This sounds like your foray thru National Security...
With little Intelligence.
So, let's stay dependent and make it a whole little harder until we are annexed. Is that the solution? 🤔
