Not that poorly. Musk is still committed to replacing gasoline cars with those he sells. He's just also committed to replacing our constitutional republic with a dictatorship puppeted by himself.
How veryRepublican of them I like him until he hurts something I like. we shouldn't have listened to him because he's an opportunist that's not concerned with climate or the environment concerned with power and money always has always been always has been a Nazi.
After lithium ran out, America started waging wars against independent countries with deposits. The hunger for resources had led to unapologetic battles for hegemony and world domination, even at the cost of free trade which used to be a cornerstone of the nation.
They give environmental orgs a bad rep. Remember their anti-immigration stance years ago? They argued immigration was bad for the US environment, much like the racist "overpopulation" arguments. To say they're naive would be generous.
Congressman Dingell (D-MI) said "If an environmental organization tells me the sky is green I expect to look out the window and see a green sky. Sierra Club could never do that."
They've always been the politically conservative, environmental organization. Which means, of course, that they either don't know or don't *tell* the truth.
I can't recall if this was before or after the "pedo guy" comment, but yes, you'd have had to be Slashdot-era online and aware of the Tesla/Musk/Eberhadt drama to know that Musk was a shitheel
Musk wasn’t committed to climate action, he was committed to securing EV incentives to boost his company. Now that Tesla’s established, removing them would further boost his company by hurting the smaller EV companies.
I doubt he ever cared about climate change. He saw the way the wind was blowing and cynically invested, knowing that the fawning media would feed into his desires of self-aggrandisation.
He's always craved attention, right back to his Zip2 days and the media bought into it hook, line and sinker.
Elon didn't change... People just believed what he said and never looked at the money. He is and always has been an opportunist. Anything for power or money.
A man, incapable of understanding & accepting the infinite complexity & imperfection of life itself, sees himself as a genius, every thought & action without flaw-- expects to be treated reverentially.
Other humans, with an overwhelming need for gods & kings, treat him reverentially.
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has been very educational about the subject of politics and climate policy. Let’s see if we can help educate others about this subject.
I think he actually was, at one point, trying to do good in the world.
But he morally corrupted himself to liked, to fit in, to be 'one of the boys' for once in his life. The incels on Twitter really took advantage of his insecurities. He's no victim tho, he is a lost cause, who can crawl in a hole
He was a Nazi raised by apartheid Nazis. Hes an opportunist, if he thinks he could get power or money. Look at his history if anything he's ever been part of.
Billionaires aren't people, and you have/had stockholm syndrome if you ever thought any of them were looking out for your class interest. His morals are just whats profitable to him, as is with any capitalist.
2017/2018 was when he really started to begin to morally decay. He made that pedo joke about the cave rescuers and couldn't handle the backlash. I'm talking more about a 2010-2015 era of Elon. I just remember being fascinated with him. We all kinda did collectively like him, we def overlooked things
Yeah, he could have been both a fucked up monster and dedicated to fighting climate change. Now he's a fucked up monster and dedicated to fighting on behalf of climate change.
My parents from Alabama were pretty damn racist growing up and still are, a big reason I've been no contact with them for years, but they were good people with flaws, they definitely became corrupted in 2016 so we don't speak. It's possible to have redeeming traits AND be a little shit stain too.
In March 2025, the Sierra Club and other organizations filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) over significant budget cuts and mass firings within federal agencies responsible for managing national parks and forests.
He has openly aligned with climate-denying political factions and supported policies that undermine EV incentives and clean energy transitions. He pivoted from urgency to dismissal, now publicly suggesting climate change is “slower than alarmists claim” — echoing fossil fuel industry talking points.

I was fooled. But I won't get fooled again.

I don’t think his madness breached containment until 2020.
These people have literally always been psychopaths and anyone who didn’t see it chose not to see it.
He's always craved attention, right back to his Zip2 days and the media bought into it hook, line and sinker.

World burns.

He always was an opportunist.
