Tough one. Trump has direct political power and is not guided by principles outside of what benefits himself. Elon has some reach with X, but it’s volatile. He only has indirect access to political power. I’m sure Trump is for sale and therefore Elon might be able to buy some political results.

If/when he abandons Ukraine to the Russians, that is a threat to democracy I think. He also talked about deploying the army against “the enemy within”. He is probably right now disrupting Washington with his appointments (many will argue that is a good thing, but we’ll see…).
