This is stuff I’ve been communicating heavily to younger / relatively newly out friends because it’s so hard to convey to them just how much I felt almost overnight things have changed, and even with these bans HRT still feels more accessible than it was even ten years ago; my main concern is volume

That’s true, it’s why I lean more optimistic! The networks for “non-prescription” access have exploded in a way that would’ve been utopian even like during the tipping point— hell there’s just more options for hormones flat out (androgel, the pellet, etc)

I feel this so much. I came out in 2010 and it's so bizarre how many people do not recognize how novel all of this is. I think about my first couple of years of social transition and watching everything just wildly explode all at once after about 2012 so often.

Yep. From 2012 to 2014, when I was doing my blogging, and my friends were all getting books published and becoming actors and stuff, it felt like we were surfing a cultural wave. Like we were perfectly in sync with the zeitgeist and along for the ride of history.

In 2010 I was the only other person in the campus trans group aside from the founder. By 2015 we had to book a larger room to fit everyone who was able to make it to a meeting. It was amazing to watch. I think living through it is one of the reasons I'm able to keep from despair these days tbh.
