The last one I read: Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult.
The one that came to mind (read about 15 mos ago): Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt (which also was the last one I rated 5 stars before Leaving Time)
Agatha Christie’s Marple: Expert on Wickedness by @markaldridge.bsky.social if you love Christie & the various adaptations then this & his previous Poirot book are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Karla's Choice by Nick Harkaway. It's a great spy novel in its own right, but it got an extra point for recapturing so well the universe, characters and atmosphere of (his late father) John Le Carré.

My book of the year.
Would comfortably rate it 6 stars if that was possible.
