This is one of those things where the effort is there, the material is usually there, but the problem is time. Basically unless you are very smart with how you structure your units, you're going to run out of class time around WW2-Vietnam.

Okay, but seriously: We've got to enlarge civics education to include both poli-sci and govenrment administration; and we've got to develop a modern US history curricula that goes beyond World War II.
