I recently finished that one, while a bit demanding with the difficulty early on it is definitely one of the better indie rpgs, it is also inspired by xenogears if that gives you a bit more hope
It's a banger tbh, really enjoyed my time with that game. You can def break it in half towards the end as with most turn-based rpgs, but it was a great time all the way through. Plus there's a blue mage type character who is delightful and goofy
I've been looking at it for a while but saw pretty mixed reviews. I have a pretty extensive backlog right now, but I keep looking at it so I may just have to give it a try!

this really is like a bunch of snes and ps1 rpgs put in a blender, but so far in a positive way
