Each weapon is basically a different fighting game character. You either gotta spend time in the lab figuring it out or hit up a guide on YouTube to get a run down on bread and butter combos.

Not sure how you'd really improve the on boarding for that but at least some weapons are much easier to learn. Hammer is what I got all my mates to use initially as it's simple and gives you a lot of time to watch monster move sets and focus on positioning.

Freedom Unite surprised me in how each of the weapons had full fledged in-game guides in how to use them alongside missions where you'd be sent decked in gear to test them out, though that might've been easier to design when every weapon had 2 attacks and 1 special button
