The ending paragraph of the article is disgusting. If I made a broad sweeping statement about a genre that was untrue because I was only aware of, like, three games in the genre, my editor would body slam me through a desk.

Which, honestly, that's kinda vile.
Like, no joke, CRPGs are my favourite genre - but how is it that all JRPGs have "loud, obvious, unsubtle, unending narratives" and not... Mass Effect? Baldur's Gate?
As if we can't use "turn based rpg" or find genre diversity within the jrpg label
