How would this evolve as phones become more wireless? I imagine a wireless homephone would basically be the same but maybe two parts strung together with wire rather than one handpiece, but I'm wondering about cellphones and smartphones.

The trend for those types are increasingly less phone-like, but phones were an easy way to justify having a PDA that just happens to replace your already existing cellphone. Is it possible that PDAs just become commonplace along with a two-piece cellphone?
