Not really. I'm limiting myself to doom scrolling for about 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening, and then trying to enjoy my work life and life as much as possible the rest of the time. No IG. Very, very little FB. And no corporate media. But I still burst into angry tears 1x/day
rn, there's an exceptional amount of anxiety/doom scrolling. But since my partner is even more stressed about it all than I, I'm doing the things that bring my nervous system ⬇️ as often as I can:
Breathing
Meditating in increments
Tearing myself away
I make a list of everything that has happened today, take actions where I can, and then spend the afternoon/evening doing something for myself. Also, condense your intake. No point watching 30 videos about the same horrible thing when you aren’t gaining any additional knowledge about it.
I try to put it in perspective. We are being asked to fight for our democracy. I’ve read a lot of history and spent a few years studying D-Day. What we are being asked to do pales in comparison to what happened on those beaches. Writing to my elected representatives every day and that helps.
1. I watch No MSM!
2. I get all my updates from Socials media I trust.
3. Late night Comedians.
4. I fact check everything!
5. This is how I NEVER watch Shitler 💩‼️
Working on it. I get some newsletters, often just scan them (or the headlines) to get the gist. Try to limit online news time to an hour or so morning/afternoon (doesn't always work).
I cook/bake a lot, watch Star Trek, knit, plan my veg garden.
Yes! Part-time work, full-time wife, mother, grandmother, community activist/volunteer, etc. Stay engaged with people in your community. There is so much to do. Volunteer, 2026/2028 will be here faster than you expect.
Actually no. Although I do feel a bit better every time I call the senators...(202) 224-3121 SENATE PHONE and make sure my senator (Fetterman😡) hears my anger

From 16th December 2024:
I try to keep up, I just don't care.
I don't recommend that, but I'm hyperactively mad.

Scrolling can also give comfort, bc, like minds.
Like believing in democracy, compassion and hope for the future
