I got my titers checked in 2018 or so when there was a measles outbreak in nyc and I needed to get the mmr series again! Totally worth it for peace of mind

My cohort (43 y/o Canadian) was only given one dose in childhood, so a year ago I re-upped my MMR during a measles outbreak in my city. Redid tetanus while I was at it.

I am doing some volunteer work that required vaccination records and some tests that revealed that despite having had two MMR doses as a child, I am no longer showing sufficient antibodies for mumps (not a doctor, I tried to understand) and an additional MMR was recommended for me. 46 y/o male.

Can confirm someone I used to work with in her 30s had Mumps and this was the exact situation- her childhood vaccines had timed out.

It's apparently fairly common but usually herd immunity makes it not an issue. So punters dont often consider that their injections decades ago may expire

(A doctor friend advised that its not uncommon to find Mumps in students for this reason - everyone's injections are a decade plus old and a whole bunch of people travel to a new city, the perfect storm to rekindle a rare disease)
