I imagine once the shock wears off, we will start coming up with some actionable things to do. So, I guess stay tuned
This small number is not true. For several reasons, the impact is far greater, and the numbers provided seem to be intentionally misleading

In our town hall meetings yesterday, management told us that after reducing academic staff, administrative staff would also be reduced
By how much? Who knows?

But, it gets worse!

So, 400 FTE is more than 400 people

Yesterday we were told that this would be a cut of 120 FTE academic staff, which comes from ca. 240 total staff (including non-academics)
That's comparing apples & oranges!

Humanities are important, just like sciences. The idea that one group of researchers is more important than the other is anti-scientific in itself.
