Seems a bit pointless too, as the best they’ll get is one game off. I suspect the thinking is just to delay the start of the ban so he can play at the weekend..?

And I think that the minimum was fair in the circumstances, plus one extra match for downplaying his comments, which is also fair. His comments were ignorant and racist but not intentionally hateful.
